In this Dark Age singing His praise is foremost. The pious (gurmukh) must meditate in earnest on His Name. The Sikh tradition of Gurbani Kirtan or Gurmat Sangeet was started by Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Kartarpur in the early 16th century and was strengthened by the later guru sahiban, particularly Guru Arjan Dev Ji, at Amritsar. In spite of several interruptions, Gurbani Kirtan continues to be performed at the Harmandir Sahib since then.

The  historic "Gur Sikh Temple" is located directly across the road from the main Abbotsford Gurdwara.
